The new headquarter of Sparkasse Bremen is suited for today’s changing business models as the nature of work is continually evolving.
By applying the sustainability principles of sufficiency and sharing spaces, the design concept fulfills important basic requirements for resource and climate protection. 480 non-territorial workplaces for multiple users were created for 600 employees. Quiet areas, project rooms, coffee lounges, and think tanks ensure quiet yet communicative areas in the open space office landscape.
A brine-water heat pump with 58 geothermal probes was implemented to supply the building with heating and passive cooling. The concept was developed with detailed investigation of variants by means of a life cycle assessment.
