Since June 2022, Anja Rosen and Frauke Kaven have been working as C5 and with a dedicated team to shape the building revolution in a creative and forward-looking way. With a clear focus on sustainable construction, circular construction and resource-saving concepts, C5 combines scientific depth with practical implementation. Together, we develop innovative solutions that pave the way for a circular construction industry.

Anja Rosen

Dr.-Ing. Architect | Professor of Circular Construction

Anja Rosen combines scientific depth with practical implementation skills and actively shapes the transition towards resource-conserving construction. As Professor of Circular Construction at the MSA Münster School of Architecture and Managing Director of C5 GmbH, she contributes pioneering concepts to research, teaching, and construction practice. Her expertise spans building planning and circular construction to life cycle assessment, life cycle costs, urban mining, and certification according to DGNB and BNB standards. With many years of experience as a DGNB auditor, she is actively involved in the DGNB’s Life Cycle and Circular Construction Committee.

From 2013 to 2022, she was responsible for the sustainable building division of the agn Group, most recently as Managing Director of energum GmbH. After completing her doctorate at the University of Wuppertal in 2020, she was appointed honorary professor for circular construction and taught there alongside her work as an architect and expert in sustainable construction.

The Urban Mining Index, developed by Anja as part of her doctoral research, represents a significant scientific milestone—and earned her the DGNB Sustainability Challenge award in the research category in 2021. She is also co-author of Atlas Recycling, which received the Hans Sauer Award. Anja Rosen further advanced the urban mining concept through its application in the Korbach Town Hall project, a finalist for the German Sustainability Award for Architecture in 2022.

Frauke Kaven

Architect | BNB Coordinator | DGNB Auditor

Frauke Kaven has many years of international experience in planning construction projects of various sizes, across diverse cultural contexts, and throughout all architectural design phases—ranging from the urban planning scale and building conception to well-considered detailed solutions.

With projects spanning Europe, Asia, and the USA, her experience includes the planning of educational and healthcare facilities, office and administrative buildings, and urban districts. After working in Shanghai and New York, her career continued in Münster, where she contributed to complex new constructions and renovations—ranging from data centres and clinics to timber school buildings and architectural competitions. This wide-ranging architectural expertise now underpins her role as a sustainability consultant, where creative thinking is paired with a consistent focus on sustainable implementation.

Since 2022, Frauke has been Managing Director of C5 GmbH, which she co-founded with Anja Rosen. At C5, she supports competitions in preliminary evaluations and jury processes, as well as certifications according to DGNB and BNB standards, bringing her extensive project experience into integrative planning processes—with the goal of embedding sustainable practices effectively in every project phase.

Yvonne Kunkemöller

CIVIL ENGINEER | BNB Coordinator | DGNB Auditor

With a background in civil engineering and a passion for sustainable building, Yvonne Kunkemöller supports construction projects with a clear eye for quality, economic viability and environmental awareness. As a certified BNB coordinator and DGNB auditor, she is an expert in the sustainability assessment and optimisation of buildings - from the initial concept to final certification.

Her personality is characterised by analytical thinking, technical precision and the ability to quickly familiarise herself with new topics. After graduating, she gained valuable experience in fire protection planning, project management and quality assurance at Airbus. She then took over the project management for internal construction projects at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and deepened her expertise in the areas of building physics and sustainability consulting.

Today, Yvonne combines her wide-ranging project experience with a deep understanding of sustainable planning and construction - and supports clients with expert advice on the successful certification of their buildings.

Dora Vieira Carreira

B.A. Architecture | M.A. Interior Design |
DGNB Consultant

Dora Vieira Carreira combines creative sensitivity with technical understanding - characterised by her training in architecture and interior design as well as her personal motivation: growing up in a family where building was always present, she developed a feeling for spaces and their effect at an early age. This interest led her from the details of interior design to the big picture - sustainable architecture.

During her studies, Dora focused on sustainable construction, conducting experimental research into the rapidly renewable raw material Typha — a natural building material with insulating and load-bearing properties — for her Master’s thesis. Her Bachelor’s thesis was dedicated to comparing international sustainability certification systems: DGNB, BREEAM, and LEED. Today, Dora advises clients with a holistic view of architecture and sustainability.

Her work combines design quality with ecological responsibility - from conception and planning to the realisation of sustainable construction projects.

Katinka Stübing

B.Sc. Civil Engineering | DGNB Registered Professional

Katinka Stübing combines technical expertise with a passion for sustainable construction - characterised by her civil engineering studies and valuable practical experience in the assessment of sustainable buildings. After graduating from high school, she became involved in environmental education at a nature experience farm, laying the foundation for her future career.

During her bachelor‘s degree at the Bauhaus University Weimar, she deepened her knowledge of structural engineering. One formative stage was a four-month internship at a company specialising in green building certification in Stuttgart. Katinka‘s Master‘s programme at Münster University of Applied Sciences also focuses on sustainable construction.

As a DGNB Registered Professional, she supports our team in the preparation of certificates for DGNB and BNB certifications and contributes to the realisation of resource-efficient construction projects.
